Manhood (Quotes and General Advice)

Manhood (Quotes and General Advice) Pic

Here is a further collection of advice on successful manhood, continued from our main section on Being a Man.

"Not my circus, not my clowns."

"confidence is quiet. insecurities are loud."

"It's not the grades you make, but the hands you shake"

these are the 3 most important sentences to say in life: 1) I'm sorry.
2) I forgive you.
3) I love you.
Just think what a better place the world would be if we used those three sentences a little more.

"Do what you've got to do, so you can do what you want to do."

Bad companions bring bad luck.

America was founded by tough Hell-raisers that evaded taxes, grew tobacco, smuggled weapons, brewed spirits, and stood against tyranny.

"You can't impose decency, honesty, good behavior, or responsibility. They are in the culture, or they are not. If they are, you don't need laws, police, and supervision. If they are not, laws won't much help."

You can accomplish things you never thought you could possibly do if you go past the limits of what you previously thought you could do, on a regular basis.

If she says, "do whatever you want", under no circumstances do whatever you want.

Liberals didn't change any minds - they changed the voters.
-Ann Coulter at

The truth about government is that it consists almost entirely of people who simply aren't good enough to get real day jobs.
-Texas Arcane at

I always think it's a good rule of thumb, don't ever do anything the government wants you to do.

"God prepares great men for great tasks by great trials." - J.K. Gressett

For every dollar lost, there's a dollar earned.

Loving your son is much more than acceptance. It's directing him in the way of truth even when he is in error.

You deserve to be mislead if your so smart that you can't think outside your own reality.

"The most technologically efficient machine that man has ever invented is the book." --Northrop Frye

Whenever you hear the consensus of scientists agrees on something or other, reach for your wallet, because you're being had.

Vintage PhilishaveLet's be clear: the work of science has nothing whatever to do with consensus. Consensus is the business of politics. Science, on the contrary, requires only one investigator who happens to be right, which means that he or she has results that are verifiable by reference to the real world. In science consensus is irrelevant. What is relevant is reproducible results. The greatest scientists in history are great precisely because they broke with the consensus. There is no such thing as consensus science. If it's consensus, it isn't science. If it's science, it isn't consensus. Period. — Michael Crichton on the myth of global warming- A lecture at the California Institute of Technology

"Fear of death will not prevent dying - but it may prevent living."

"I have never been taken with the idea of selling a gun. When you possess a firearm, you possess something of importance. If you trade it for cash, you have lost it - and the cash in your hand will soon be gone. Sell something else!"
- Col Jeff Cooper

Do at least one thing extremely well: specialize.

Versatility equals compromise. Like a Swiss Army Knife, "it's good for some and great for none," as a friend once said.

Never talk on a cell phone, always have your shoes tied, and always look as 'hard' as you can. Source

Sometimes following the law is for fools.

"If you send your children to welfare schools, they will get welfare education. Why is everyone still surprised by this fact?"

"Stop being stupid. Stop calling them liberals. They are not liberal. They are tyrants, in this case most likely a communist. Stop playing their game and using gentle words to describe monstrous beliefs. Take back our language. Call them what they are - tyrants."

"There go the atheists once again, trying to prove a universal negative that God did not, does not or cannot exist anywhere in the universe, in any dimension. To be 100% certain of that would make them a god themselves. A universal negative cannot be proven and is illogical."

"Another educator who got suckered by the ACLU and their atheist wackos with their separation of church and state bullcrap. The lies spouted by the liberals today about this so-called separation is a far cry from what Jefferson wrote about a long time ago. A far cry. The early American government even had church services in government buildings and used taxpayer money to publish Bibles. Get educated, liberals and atheists. Don't be anti-Christian."

"We have managed to get God out of school. What about the Devil?"

"Public school teachers are nothing more than missionaries of the progressive/secular religion. If you are liberal, then you might think it's OK to have your child indoctrinated by such missionaries. If not, then why on earth are you sending your child to a public school?"

"Home School whenever possible and daily digilence when not possible." Source

"If you cannot save money, the seeds of greatness are not in you."

"Try, try, try, and keep on trying is the rule that must be followed to become an expert in anything."
-billionaire W. Clement Stone, founder of Combined Insurance

Tradition is what the present calls those regions of the past that it retains, that it cherishes and needs. Contrary to the progressivist caricature, tradition is not the domination of the present by the past. It is the domination of the past by the present—the choice that we make to preserve and to love old things because we have discovered in them resources for contemporary sustenance and up-to-the-minute illumination.
Leon Wieseltier at

You should always beware a man that seeks to deny your access to knowledge, for in his heart he seeks to be your master.

On Selling firearms:
Grandfather and father taught me : "how can you build an arsenal if you sell a gun to replace a gun"
I've never heard of buyer remorse (unless they didn't know what they were buying to begin with). But I have heard of sellers remorse.

I passed a guy in a suit who was on the phone saying: "Worst case scenario, I still look damn good."

"If its not good than its just not good." My friend told me this after he asked how my drink was and i replied "its alright" (Don't settle for mediocrity or half-best.)

"If you are faced with two options, take the third option." Surprisingly, it really helps me to think outside the box.

"it's sometimes better to be kind than right."

Make yourself better. Hell, make yourself the best. What's so doggone hard about that? Nothing. The one word I would use to describe my personal life is not "easy", the word I would use is "better". Better than 5 years ago, better than 2 years ago, better than last year, and better than yesterday.

There are no rules, there are only laws. Follow the laws and break the rules.

Money buys comfort, comfort is not happiness, or satisfaction. While it is good to be comfortable it is more satisfying to be happy.

On your first date, don't go to a fancy restaurant. The girl will be more interested in the place than in you.

Don't take abuse at work. And don't get so dependent on a job that you have to suffer abuse. If you have a boss that screams yells and insults you, quit. And always be able to be able to quit.

Don't be half assed with your vices. If you eat steak, don't eat at McDonalds. If you smoke, don't smoke Marlboro. If you like pretty women, don't hire them off the street corner.

Life gives you what you settle for.

Pretending to be someone else has two negatives - you attract people you don't like and you cannot attract people you would rather be around.

Your thoughts are limited by your vocabulary.

Do not be afraid to take advice from those that have tried something and failed. Do not take it from those who have never tried anything.

Make sure you marry somebody you want your kids to act like.

Nothing will be done. There are few men left in this country. Fifty years of unrelenting propaganda. A castrated nation.

...boys start surfing porn when they are what, about 11? They continue to view porn through college and into adulthood, which is not real, for many years after. I know many 32 year old men who visit strip bars weekly and still view porn.
They learn to only "get it up" for anorexic, size 2 blonde women with fake boobs, huge implanted lips, theater makeup and the golden triangle thigh gap.
About 1% of women can be attractive to the average white male porn watcher.
So....there are a lot of women who don't fit this profile. Where do they go for male companionship? We have not fat, but fuller thighs, natural breasts, brown hair, bouncy parts, and sometimes a high IQ.
...normal pretty women have a hard time arousing most men who are used to the fake blonde porn stars.
That might be something for you guys to consider.

Men need to stop viewing porn. I think it is being used to indoctrinate you and keep you from forming loving relationships and having babies with normal women.

Don't make yourself useful, make yourself invaluable. There are thousands of useful people, but be the one person that the company couldn't stand with out.

"one thing I'm seeing is our culture has decided that shocking amounts of narcissism are are OK. Everybody thinks they're special because their parents told them that for years. Everyone has self esteem that is higher than is justified because their parents were lead to believe that self esteem is a requirement for success (it isn't, actually, and studies have shown it. Self esteem is not the fuel that creates success, it is the result of successes). Thus, parents told their children how wonderful they were when they really weren't.

Take a look around at modern advertising, especially in social media. Facebook is practically designed to promote narcissistic tendencies.

These people think they are God's gift to creation. As a result, the middle class and rich kids think their parents owe them something and the poor kids think Uncle Sam owes them something."

Try to be as self reliant as possible. If that means tearing into your clothes dryer with a $10 H.F. multimeter, so be it. You'll learn a lot."

"Plan a career. Don't settle for a job."

"Learn to cook. You do not want to get married just for sex and meals. You are looking for love, not just sex, and there is a difference."

"Go placidly amid the noise and haste, and remember what peace there may be in silence. As far as possible without surrender be on good terms with all persons. Speak your truth quietly and clearly; and listen to others, even the dull and the ignorant; they too have their story. Avoid loud and aggressive persons, they are vexations to the spirit. If you compare yourself with others, you may become vain and bitter; for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself. Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans. Keep interested in your own career, however humble; it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time. Exercise caution in your business affairs; for the world is full of trickery. But let this not blind you to what virtue there is; many persons strive for high ideals; and everywhere life is full of heroism. Be yourself. Especially, do not feign affection. Neither be cynical about love; for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment it is as perennial as the grass. Take kindly the counsel of the years, gracefully surrendering the things of youth. Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune. But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings. Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness. Beyond a wholesome discipline, be gentle with yourself. You are a child of the universe, no less than the trees and the stars; you have a right to be here. And whether or not it is clear to you, no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should. Therefore be at peace with God, whatever you conceive Him to be, and whatever your labors and aspirations, in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be cheerful. Strive to be happy."

You really don't know a person's true character until you have seen them in adversity. This is true of friends, co-workers, and women that you date. Also, in the case of women, pay attention to their mothers. Most women, to a large degree, become their mothers."

"Will Joining the Military Make You a Man?
Posted by Laurence Vance on April 28, 2013 01:43 PM
I still occasionally hear people say that young men should join the military so they can grow up and become men. But will joining the military make you a man? It might. But it might also, or might instead, make you a killer (in an unjust war or in America when you come home), a drug addict, a victim of suicide, an abuser of alcohol, a legless man, or a brain-injury basket case. Marine Corps Major General Smedley Butler, a two-time Congressional Medal of Honor winner, said about military service: "Like all the members of the military profession, I never had a thought of my own until I left the service. My mental faculties remained in suspended animation while I obeyed the orders of higher-ups. This is typical with everyone in the military service." If you want to be your own man, stay out of the military and work a real job--that will make you a man without baggage to carry around the rest of your life."

"I'm 58 yrs old, born and raised in the South. My grandfather owned and worked what was locally called a 'truck farm'. 100 acres of land upon which he raised dairy cows, beef cattle, chickens, pigs, cotton, corn, potatoes, sweet potatoes, tomatoes, green beans, squash, watermelon, beets, cabbage, onions, grapes, peaches, apples, pears, sugar cane, hay, etc. I remember the county agriculture agent coming around on a nearly monthly basis and trying to convince my grandfather to switch to growing only one item (example: all dairy cows or all corn). By going that route , he said my grandfather could concentrate on that one crop and buy modern equipment dedicated to one purpose. If my grandfather went from milking his present 16 milk cows by hand to 200 cows with modern electric milking equipment, he could make a much larger profit. Or if he gave up all other crops and switched to field corn, he could buy a big combine and again his profits would increase. The new modern equipment was very expensive and the agent would say don't worry about that you can take out a loan and pay it back out of the increase profits. The agent would always talk down to my grandfather, citing his college education as proof why my grandfather would be wise to listen to him. The more he talked, the angrier my grandfather would get and when his patience wore thin he would tell the agent to get off his land. When I asked my grandfather why he didn't try what the agent advised, I was told that when you put everything you have into raising just one crop, when that crop failed you had nothing. Life is constantly changing and we have to have different sources of income. If the boll weevils destroyed the cotton, we have the vegetables, fruits and dairy to sell. If a late freeze takes out the fruit trees, we still had vegetables, dairy, cotton and hogs bringing in money. Don't go into debt to the banks hoping you will get wealthy because if disaster strikes, the bank can take your land. My grandparents never took out a loan in their lives, never owed money to anybody (other than taxes). Everything they owned they paid cash for when they bought it. Yet our society looked down upon them as "poor dirt farmers".

It's all well and good that we have wealthy powerful people who are willing to advise us on how we should invest our blood, sweat and money. They can assure us their advice is trustworthy and if we do what they tell us, we will prosper. But in the end it comes down to you and your own efforts to provide for you and your family, now and in your old age. You want security, you want to be able to take care of yourself and your family... then make sure you are not going to lose everything when you suddenly find yourself unable to pay the bills. Concentrate on paying off the burden of debts. Look to bring in an income from not just your day job, but also from additional sources. Learn additional skills you can make money from. Develop a hobby which brings you pleasure and money and can be done outside the 9:00-5:00 routine. Your life is your's to control, your future security can be in your hands."

What your Mom won't tell you - You only have two options in life: 1). Play the hand you are dealt to the best of your abilities,. 2). Don't. Nothing more pathetic than reading someone bitch about how unfair and corrupt society is because they are not heir to the throne of Monte Carlo... Your ambitions are your own, if you can't satisfy them then it is you that has the problem. The rest of the world doesn't care if you we're never even here.

"Do you know of a man of God who boldly thunders against sin? Does his message ring, not of legalism, but of deep personal purity? Then run to his feet -- sit under his message, for he has the truth that will set you free. He is the true prophet of God, and he makes all other prophets tremble and fear. The pillow prophets despise him because he walks with truth in the inward parts."

I watched my dad take a call from his boss while at dinner, the boss got abusive and threatening, and in front of us all, quit the job, and then finished dinner."

"NM writes:

In response to your correspondent Elena G., I would suggest an inverse of the traditionalist dictum of "Remove yourself from temptation." It is something like, "Make the righteous path attractive." (I'm sure there is already an aphorism for this.) Thus in a marriage, one is obligated to try and remain appealing to one's spouse. To disregard this obligation is to show disrespect for one's spouse and their desires. Regardless of whether you believe if any circumstance makes adultery justifiable, trying to remain attractive to one's spouse surely reduces the probability of adultery. Men and women desire different things, so husbands and wives may need to maintain their appeal in different ways. The wife will likely need to focus more on her appearance, pleasantness and domesticity, while the husband on his role as a father and provider, though his health, physique and demeanor oughtn't be neglected either.
Your correspondent Elena G.'s response is characteristic of many Anglophone women, including supposed conservative or traditionalist women. Ask such a woman what she desires in a man, and she will readily reel off a list of details. But ask her what she offers, and she will be speechless, if not stunned or angry. The idea that she may have to cook or remain physically attractive for a man is particularly noxious to them. This has happened to me in person, exactly as I described. The idea that a woman must do anything more than show up is repugnant to a large set of Anglophone women. And most American men are too weak to disagree and firmly state that a wife has her own obligations.
Alternatively, women from more traditional, i.e. non-Anglophone cultures see this as common sense, this notion that women also have obligations to satisfy their spouse; they are surprised that any woman would think otherwise. Among some couples, especially in Mediterranean or Latin cultures, the wife has given up trying to maintain her appearance, and instead tacitly condones her husband having affairs, so long as they are kept from her view. We can probably all agree that the latter is a less desirable outcome, a scenario which we'd rather avoid.

In theory, we are all supposed to love our partners unconditionally, but in practice this is difficult, if not unlikely. To act as if one's spouse can love unconditionally is to encourage disharmony and tragedy in one's house."

Fear doubt and indecision are the biggest enemies of success they are the unholy trinity of sorts. The popular slogan "if it feels good, do it" is designed to turn us into slavish animals.
"why would you deny yourself of behaviors which can give you pleasure?
The question was so off the mark I did not know how to respond.
But I have a response to that: Because we are not animals solely guided by our instincts.

"In contemplating the political institutions of the United States, I lament that we waste so much time and money in punishing crimes, and take so little pains to prevent them. We profess to be republicans and yet we neglect the only means of establishing and perpetuating our republican forms of government. "Money is power...Power also comes from having lots of good relations, connections, with worthwhile people. It comes...from being physically fit, mentally awake, and morally straight. It comes from having lots of both intellectual knowledge and practical skills. These are the things that separate the wheat from the chaff among people.
That said, I want to stress that people should not get too attached to wealth and money – that's a huge mistake on all levels. Wealth is a normal consequence of excellence in other areas of life. But it's only a consequence, a significant side effect, or an aid. It's not an object in itself. "Women act like men, and whore culture is cool. Also, men have been emasculated.
Women are so used to being seen as sex objects, that they are more than happy to be used and tossed aside by alpha males. This helps foster an environment where merit of a man's character is no longer a factor in getting sex. The very fundamentals of our civilization are being shaken by the notion that sex is nothing more than a fluid swap; no more important than a hand shake.
Look around at all the miserable, used up 30ish single white women without children. They are all crying on the inside, but are strong, independent women on the outside.
Look around at all the miserable, fat, emasculated neckbeard gamers. Men so wholly abandoned by testosterone, their only vent to the world is to yell "You're gay noob" through Xbox live while stomping you with a high level character.
Maybe I'm fond of a time where people had high standards, and really respected values and tradition. I know that porn has helped me to completely objectify women, and damaged my ability to connect sex and love.
I think we've barely seen 1 generation exposed to internet porn at such high rates. Our culture in the west is doing a nose-dive into the gutter. So much of what was is no more. We are changing society and our interactions with each other at such a faster pace than humanity has ever experienced. I don't know if encouraging youth to view sex as something completely devoid of emotion, and meaningless, will help form stable and happy societies."

How to Destroy a Society: Eliminate Families
1. Eliminate Families (Tribes)
- no marriage
- kids without dads
- women without men
- men without women
* this eliminates family (i.e. "tribal" loyalties) and causes everyone to look elsewhere for their identification with family and with "unit". they look to the state. the women has no man so she looks to the govt handout. the child has no parents so he looks to the school and the govt. the man has no kids or wife so he looks to casual sex and porn and lives like a child himself.

2. Feminize Men (Tribal Leaders)
- estrogen in all products
- cause shame for manly behavior or male tendencies

The world is definitely going down the tubes. The US (where I live) has visibly devolved since I was a kid in the 80's. Noticeably. And unless there are some significant changes in society, things will get worse. Depressing as hell, for sure!!!

But there's always a remnant, a segment of any population, waiting and watching - and fully awake. Those are the people who will rebuild society from the ashes, one day.

"Conspiracy theory is an idle term that is used by people who dare not question authority, are ready to swallow what the media feeds the public, or who are too naive to think that a more powerful establishment can hoodwink or purposely do bad things to the greater public. It is only used by the idle, the complacent, the naive, and those who will turn a blind eye to the greater suffering of most just to protect his naive worldview of a safe little earth where evil does not exist. Objection: a conspiracy that large cannot be hidden because that large of a number of people cannot keep a secret.
Answer: The people can keep a secret if they all willingly wish to keep it a secret. Examples of large groups of people who can and do keep secrets are the mafia and corporations. Those two types of organizations have a lot in common, actually. But what's germane here is that they are high-level groups of people, large organizations, and they have a goal or object of common interest that they wish to advance or protect. It is no different with governments or factions within governments (including political parties or special interest groups). One thing you might want to ask yourself, if you still can't comprehend of the existence of criminal conspiracies within government, is "What if the conspirators are all criminally-minded?". [See the case of Gary Webb]

"Building the bomb was the single most expensive engineering project in the history of the United States….The degree of secrecy maintained while building the bomb is almost inconceivable. When the world learned that America had dropped an atomic weapon on Hiroshima, no one was more surprised than the U.S. Congress, none of whose members had had any idea it was being developed. Vice President Harry Truman had been equally stunned to learn about the bomb when he became president of the United States, on April 12, 1945. Truman had been the chairman of the Senate Special Committee to Investigate the National Defense Program when he was vice president, meaning he was in charge of watching how money was spent during the war, yet he'd had no idea about the atomic bomb until he became president and the information was relayed to him by two men…The Manhattan Project employed two hundred thousand people. It had eighty offices and dozens of production plants spread out all over the country, including a sixty-thousand-acre facility in rural Tennessee that pulled more power off the nation's electrical grid than New York City did on any given night. And no one knew the Manhattan Project was there. That is how powerful a black operation can be."

Testifying in Court (For Self-Defense)

Most judges and juries with a couple of open minded individuals on them are easily convinced that sometimes the world isn't nice and peaceful like a postcard or a visit Michigan or California commercial. It can be downright ugly and extremely violent.

That is why I have routinely preached familiarization with codified law as well as case law as it applies to the geographic region you reside in or regularly visit. The importance of case law in your geographic region is due to rulings handed down in the county, state and federal circuit courts. Some judges will consider rulings from other jurisdictions, some won't.

Simply saying you feared for your life in the current racial environment we are in will likely be insufficient. You have to be able to go into clear and conscise reasoning of what about the situation caused you fear and what you believed the outcome would be if you did not use the force you did to protect yourself and/or others.

For instance I had a defense attorney begin a line of questioning to allow her to try to paint a picture of my using excessive force against her client. After a couple of pointed questions towards the force continuum, I cut her off. I stated that based on her clients behavior I believed he was preparing himself to assault me despite the fact he was handcuffed in my patrol car. Specifically try to kick me as I was standing between the car and the door. I used my taser in a drive stun manner for one 5 second evolution. I then emphatically stated to her that no citizen or law enforcement officer needs to be physically assaulted prior to acting in a defensive manner. Her response? "No further questions".

Make eye contact with the jurors, judge and attorneys while you testify. The judge and jury are looking for sincerity and your personal conviction. The attorneys are looking for discomfort, fear, or any other body language indicator of how to get you to say something counter to what happened or attempt to get you to give a different answer to a question they already asked you.

If they cut you off in the middle of your testimony, always look to the judge and ask, "May I continue". The opposing attorneys hate that and often times the judge will grant your request. If he does not, any attorney worth a shit acting on your behalf will ask the judge for "follow-up" and ask a question to allow you to finish your statement.

Lastly, yes I'd rather be judged by 12 than carried by 6. Do not go out into the world with your "blinders on". Keep your head on a swivel. Staying alert keeps you alive.
